I have experienced this. So fun…….like going to the fair……we get to sit back and enjoy the ride. I have had to consciously practice this again after getting so capable in some areas. When I got back into ballroom dancing, it was so apparent that I was prone to taking the reins, as I had a difficult time ‘following’ and would start leading and telling him what he needed to do to lead. I am quick to learn and felt better than the men at dancing, and felt impatient and frustrated with their mediocre (my judgement) lead, so took much discipline to surrender and accept and be appreciative for the lead that they did provide. Although not always as exciting as I can experience on the dance floor, surrendering causes a much more romantic and connected experience with the man…..and then they enjoy dancing with me and want more…….and it brings out the best of them….and they get better and more confident at leading! It is kinda like the saying, “do you want to be right or do you want to have peace”—in this case: Do you want to be the lonely star or do you want a co-star/do you want company? I choose to co-star. It’s okay to choose to have a really good lead (dancer) though right? joyfully and gratefully, Florence
