How do I pay for my brace?This is a common question! The answer is somewhat complicated but we are here to simplify it for you.There are many ways you can receive compensation for a brace that you require for your rehab and wellbeing.Coverage Options:Extended health benefits<img width="331" src="https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0410/9473/products/CP-341013_1024x1024.JPG?v=1402685293">Veterans AffairsWSIB (workers compensation if it is related to a workplace injury)Motor vehicle insurance (if it is related to a motor vehicle accident)DisabilityAlternative? OptionsIf? you do not have any of the aforementioned vehicles, you can also pay out of pocket - like you do at the grocery store. You should be able to put this expense against your taxes at the end of the year. Ask your accountant for clarification on this.Extended Health BenefitsIf? you do have extended health benefits there are three silos of coverage that you need to be aware of:Paramedical services (this will cover your physio, chiro and RMT expenses)Medical devices (braces, TENS, cryotherapy etc. can be in this section)Compression (compression garments and some braces can also be covered underthis section)These silos are independent of each other.Each section has a numerical value to it and everyone’s plan is different. The best way to know what coverage you have is to call your insurer and ask how much money you have under each silo.The braces sold by Kratos Health should be covered under most EHB plans. Email us at: info@kratoshealth.caInsurance Company ClaimsSome? insurance companies require a physician's letter in order for the brace to be covered. Again, if you need help obtaining this please let us know. We can reach out to your doctor and explain why we believe the brace will be beneficial to your rehabilitation.Braces cannot be directly billed. https://www.kratoshealth.ca will have to pay for the brace upfront and then submit your receipt to your insurance company for compensation. If the brace is part of your WSIB program of care or plan OR part of your MVA claim you likely will NOT have to pay up front. We can talk with your healthcare provider about including this in their plan of care.Bottom line is, there are several ways to pay for your brace. Most insurance plans have money set aside for them as they are a common and important part of your wellbeing and journey to optimal health and function.
